The Shop Your Stash Project: July

I have to say, I'm really liking my Shop Your Stash Project idea.  It's encouraging me to not only use products that I either haven't used in awhile or products that haven't been used much at all, but it's also pushing me to be more experimental and creative with my makeup rather than just blindly reaching or the Naked palette or my other neutral shadows.

As a refresher, here's what the whole "Shop Your Stash Project" is all about:

• I pick 20 - 25 face, eye, and lip products that I want to use more often in the month
• I have to use each product at least two times in the month

That's it.  Pretty simple.  If you want to see  the products I chose for June, check it out here!  There were some products that made it into my everyday rotation and that I absolutely LOVE (holler at the ELF Giddy Gold Highlighter and the Vincent Longo Lip and Cheek Gel Stain), and there were products that I really had make an effort to integrate into my routine, such as the Alverde Liquid Eyeliner, and MAC Orange Tempura lipgloss.  But all in all, I was happy about the "new" things I had to use from day to day.

This month, I have a whole new bunch of products to use, 22 items, to be exact.

I like to think that I have a good variety of face products to use this month, including some pink blushes such as the NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow and the Wet n Wild Blush in Pearlescent Pink.  They are both essentially pink blushes that I'm excited to use, mostly because I don't feel like I use enough pink blushes.  I'm all about those corals, instead!

The Jane Mineral Blush in Honey is actually a gorgeous, well, honey color.  However, it manages to not have an orange tone to it, making it wearable as a blush that leaves me perfectly sun-kissed.  Although I just managed to finish one of my Vincent Longo Water Canvas blushes, I've realize just how much I actually love these things for their amazing lasting power.  It's ridiculously hard to use up all 11.5 grams up this blush, but I love them so much that I just NEED to have them.  The Clover Mist shade is also the perfect nude color that sculpts my face without really adding too much color.  Another shade to the likes of Clover Mist is the Clinique Cream Blushstick in Glow Blush, except that it's much bronzier and shimmery.  It's a little too bronzey for the winter, but in the summer, it's the perfect complement to my bronzey eyeshadow.  Lastly, I had to include a highlighter.  Despite the fact that my face becomes "glowy" enough on its own, I can't resist the urge to add some more shimmer, especially with the Benefit Watt's Up sample I received as a birthday present from Sephora.  I tend to not use as many cream highlighters in the summer, but I'm loving the convenience of this little highlighter stick when I just want a little dab of a sheen.

First for the eyes, I have Nars Paramaribo Duo, which I bought a couple years ago when it first came out and only used occasionally. It's a shame because I really love this duo, both the color and the texture, but I don't actually wear greens or olives that much. Somehow, the NYX Lake Moss trio also got buried in the depths of my stash, but I'm excited to use it this month as it's going to be a great smoky kit.  Last of they eyeshadow trios is the Wet n Wild Earth Looks Small from Down Here trio. I seem to be attracted to blues and greens this summer, and I'm still waiting for the perfect day to rock a bright blue eye!

 For the second part of the eye products, I'm determined to start using mint greens again.  I actually used to use the Lancome Personal Effect eyeshadow a lot more often, and have somehow chickened out from using it the past couple years. It's really gorgeous and could actually be incorporated into everyday looks with some neutral shadows, like the NYX Iced Taupe eyeshadow.  It's a beautiful smoky taupe color that I'm especially loving with a gold base underneath.  The MAC Pink Bronze Pigment is a little sentimental for me because it was my first MAC pigment, right when I was really getting into makeup, and I've always loved it since, even if it's a little tricky to use sometimes.  It's not really a bronze color, but more a copper with pink duochrome that is stunning over a black base.

As for the cream bases this month, I'm starting to fall back in love with the MAC Let's Skate! Paint Pot, part of the Holiday collection in 2011.  It's a light, peachy, ultra shimmery paint pot that works as a base for pretty much anything.  I saw it used on someone awhile under matte shadows, and I can't wait to see what effect that's going to have.  Lastly, Ive heard how much the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk does wonder as a base under colored eyeshadows, but I haven't actually tried it out too many times.  To correspond with all the colorful eyeshadows I want to use, this should work perfectly!

For the lips, I'm really pushing myself to wear more bold lip colors, so what better to start off with than the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Electric Fuchsia?  It's in-your-face bright, and an amazing pink that happens to have an amazing long-wearing texture as well.  I've already worn this once, and I. love. it.  The entire line of the has become a must-have in my collection...I sadly was excited about all of the Cover Girl Lip Perfection lipsticks and then was not really a fan of the shades I picked out because they were too similar to the ones I already owned...BUT Darling is still a beautiful midtone pink that I need to try to use this month.

 As for lipgloss, I'm taking out the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipgloss in Sangria Sunrise again, because I used to absolutely LOVE this lipgloss.  Even though the Color Sensational line has been reformulated, I talked about how much I loved the formula and smell in my last Shop Your Stash post, but I still have to try out the new line someday!  Summer is the season for corals and oranges, and nothing is the perfect shade of coral-red except for the Revlon Mineral Lipglaze in Continuous Coral.  I feel like these glosses don't get enough love, but I really love the thick and long-lasting formula of these glosses.  Back in the day, I used to love squeeze tube lipglosses more than regular lip glosses, and the Liplicious Lipgloss in Pink Grapefruit was definitely one of them.  They're not fussy and easy to apply on the go, but for some reason, I've forgotten about this lip gloss.  Lastly,  the MAC Rich and Ripe lipglass  from the Cult of Cherry collection in 2008 is probably my favorite lipglass from MAC, but I've been too scared of using it up.  Now that I have so many other lip glosses, I'm determined to start using this more, and why not?  It's a gorgeous red color with blue (yes, blue!) shimmer, making it one of the most unique glosses I own.


I've actually used many of these products at least once already since we're nearing the end of the month (already??).  Expect a FOTD post with these products very soon :)
